Smith and Jones were chosen to work with the museum and other external consultants to develop the interpretation strategy and concepts for a new geology gallery at Lyme Regis Museum.
We developed the interpretive strategy for the Stage 2 HLF application as part of a much larger redevelopment project – The Mary Anning Wing.
HLF funding of 798,000 was successful for this 1.3 million project.
Smith and Jones Design Consultants were then chosen as the designers and project managers for the implementation stage of the project. We were selected due to our creativity, project experience and recognition that the character of the new geology gallery has to complement the unique and individual style of the museum.
We worked closely with the museums team over many months to develop, refine and finely tune the interpretive content, so the finished result was of the highest scientific quality.
The Mary Anning Wing project was opened in July 2017 by Sir David Attenborough to much acclaim.
