We worked as exhibition and display designers in Bath, on the redevelopment of Ralph Allen Yard, situated in the heart of Combe Down a village suburb of Bath.
The site lies in the City of Bath Conservation Area and the wider World Heritage site. The project consisted of 9 dwellings, dedicated to low carbon living, and a mining interpretation centre which Smith and Jones designed.
We worked with project architects Hewitt Studios of Bath, and helped develop the stories and content, create the interpretive style, advise on reliable AV solutions and design the whole graphic scheme.
Visitors can discover the stories of Combe Down Stone, the material from which the Georgian City of Bath was built and Ralph Allen, the man behind the enterprise.
Both are brought to life in the Ralph Allen CornerStone, a dedicated, vibrant community hub and information centre on the site where it all began.
