Smith and Jones were the design and interpretation specialists for the creation of this brand new major 3 million redevelopment in Bristol’s historic Harbourside.
We were chosen because of our understanding of the project, the recognition that the gritty character of this working industrial site needs to be preserved, and our vision for the various spaces around the site.
We worked with the project team to develop the interpretation strategy and costed design concepts to RIBA stage D for submission to the HLF, in order to secure final project funding.
An ambitious 4 million regeneration programme by the Underfall Yard Trust. Smith and Jones were chosen as the interpretation designers for this major high profile project on Bristol’s Historic Harbourside.
We initially helped with the development of the Trusts interpretive strategy for their HLF stage 2 bid. We were then commissioned to develop the project to its completion and have recently finished the design development phase, with the the brand new interactive visitor centre to opening in early 2016.
